4256-BOMBER-”GA-1” Black-Gray Heather Wool Reversible Flight Jacket

In the late 1940's, the introduction of supercharged engines and closed cockpits rendered the old flight jackets obsolete. The new planes had more controls, so freedom of movement become more important than warmth. This Gilded Age rendition of a classic flight jacket has the same soft Merino wool ribbing around the waist and cuffs to keep the wind out, and the jacket from getting hung up on the cockpit controls. It has the same pilot jacket left sleeve pocket for various small accoutrements, and the same reversible function of the jacket with only one distinction: the original reversible safety orange color nylon lining was changed for a soft gray Merino herringbone wool quilted lining, so if you ever get stuck in an open windy field behind enemy lines, you can easily reverse it and run for the cover without giving up your position, and warmth. 

Fully reversible. 100% soft cowhide leather, lightly padded, fully wool lined winter leather jacket. 100% wool herringbone body and sleeves lining. 100% satin striped sleeve lining. 100 grams polyfill insulation padding. The jacket has Reversible 8gg black oxide metal zipper and hidden pocket snaps closure. Super warm and comfortable autumn/ winter jacket. Ample pocketing, full zipper closure and retro styling flight jacket details make this jacket a unique fall / winter accessory. Left chest vertical zipper pocket, heavy 2X2 wool blend rib cuffs, back elbows pleats for extended range of motion.
